The 6’6” G-4.f has turned out to be my all around work horse.

It’s the fastest, most responsive board I’ve ever owned!

The thing about this board is the fact that it’s

so alive in small waves but yet it

maintains control in punchier surf.

I can push this board in the 7 foot Hawaiian scale with utmost confidence….

Hi There

Well the board was awesome. I ended up spending a week + at san onofre .

Had so much fun and the board performed awesome.

I got back to Antigua last night unfortunately board-less as the airline seems to have misplaced the board.

Anyhow , thanx again for that piece of art. I really enjoyed riding it over the last few weeks.

If i don’t get the board returned I will re-order

another as it was just a amazing ride.

Hey! It’s Craig In New York. Just sending you a quick note to tell you my groveler 4 worked really well during this past swell we had here.

It was about six to eight on Saturday and it felt

like the board was made for these type of waves.

On Sunday the swell peaked and I felt like I could have used some more board because it was BIG!!! What would you recommend for me?

On Monday when the swell backed off I jumped

on my rascal and caught the most waves

I have ever caught.

Anyway. I am still in the market for the falcon. I will be ordering that soon. I just bought a house at the beach and now I am so broke. Back to work in a few days so we will get that going soon. Look foward to hearing back from you.

I was in your shop a few weeks ago on a Saturday…I ended up buying the 6′2″ accelerator. This is my first true shortboard and I have been nothing but psyched.

It’s already been a great match for me surfing

the beach breaks around SLO this time of year.

I’m already looking forward to buying my next board from you…maybe a “good waves” board for this winter!!! You’ll have to give me your recommendation when the time comes.

I’m also going to bring my girlfriend in towards the beginning of September to order a longboard for her. I was telling you about her when I was in last time. It’s her b-day and it’s time to get her a board of her own!

The Accelerator: Shaper’s Breakdown

This board is specifically designed to make small wave performance surfing easy. You get fast-driving speed bursts off the front foot and hair-trigger, tail whipping warp-arcs off the back foot. A wider nose outline and low entry rocker get this board into waves quicker and blot it down the line faster. A bendy tail rocker sweeps off the back fin making it quick and responsive in tight rail-arcing hook-turns. An even single concave runs through the midsection of the board making for a “wide open sweet spot” i.e. the board wants to go even if you don’t have your feet right in the perfect spot every time.

Todd, Charissa and Crew,

Just wanted to thank you guys for the new board,

it really is a work of art.

Great job with the packing (it took me about 15 minutes to get it out) and once it was out I wasn’t sure if I should wax it or hang it on my wall as art, thankfully I didn’t choose the latter. The package came about an hour before I was headed to the jersey shore so it worked out well. As luck would have it the summer swells have been pretty decent here in jersey but this past weekend with new board in hand it was virtually flat. I was able to grab a couple knee high swells but obviously not enough to really get a feel for the board. What I can say is that

the thing really paddles great

in fact I found it just as, if not easier,

to catch a wave on my 7′ 2″ Big Chief

than on my 7′10″ funboard, very impressive

so I can only imagine how she will surf. Being a tradesman myself I can really appreciate the overall quality of the board and

it just seems to have soul,

something that is lacking in many industries.

Having gone through some difficult times as of late I look to embrace anything that puts a smile on my face, your board truly did, and I’m sure it will bring many more in the future.

I’m down at Hungtington practicing for the contest.

I just got out of the water….are you kidding me with that swallow tail?
I had to call you right away because this is the fastest small wave board.

I just caught the tiniest waves and did like 5 turns on every wave and boosted huge airs.

It’s the perfect board for small Huntington.

I’m really stoked, just had to call and tell ya.

Todd,

I surfed the new board in 1ft to 4ft Hawaiian, clean to ugly Ho’okipa conditions. I only wish I had ordered this board last year.

It does everything I want it to do.

You can delete the old hybrid file because this tail caves II fits my surfing perfectly.
This board is much faster getting into the wave as well as transitioning over the flat spots.

Rail to rail I feel I can set up the big snap with 100% confidence.

That was something I was missing with the other epoxy board, I was always fighting the bouyancy of the board while bottom turning. Anyways I have more control through my turns with the new board and it has a lot of whip. I can’t wait for my knee to be fully recovered so I can tweek the last bit of my turns, but all in good time.

I haven’t touched my magic polyester board since I’ve pulled yours out of the box….and I love that board!

three years later…

I’m still riding the epoxy Tailcaves II and

it still doesn’t have any open dings

after three years.

The leash plug finally came out last month but the plastic cup stayed put. All I had to do was glue it back in and
reinforce it w/ cloth just in case.

Todd, I ride this board hard and I even put on

a little weight and the board only has a

shallow well where my backfoot goes.

I even put some mileage on my single fin too. It’s a fun board to ride on the glassy overhead days when I want to get a laugh, but the occassional faceplants aren’t as funny. Sometimes I forget that bottom turning on that board takes a bit of finesse. Anyways, I got too many boards here, but I’m looking forward to my new Lil’ Rascal. I just realized that I need something like it on Maui for summer and the inbetween swell days of winter. Thanks again. Aloha.

on the “Proxy Greased Rascal” you

shaped me this spring!

Wow, it is unlike anything I have ever ridden

and it rips.

I have ridden it in the worst of the worst storm swell, Doheny on a 2ft day and Salt Creek when its over head.

It does it all!

It has improved my surfing dramatically and it has become my go to board for just about everything.

It is by far the best small wave board I have ever owned!

I just love this board!

Over the last four years, it has been on every kind of wave

Shaper Breakdown on the Performance Longboard

The performance longboard features additional rocker, sleeker outline, and more tapered responsive rails. The bottom utilizes a concave in the nose for increased lift in noseriding, which transitions to a double concave through the mid-section of the board, then to a concave vee or “spiral vee” through the fins and last 1/3 of the board.

Todd,

Finally got the new board into some overhead waves..Awesome!!! as expected.

Found the limits of the board today. Your right on to not make it an everyday-any wave board, it does have a wave size limit. Waves 8′+ pushes the board a bit to hard.

It handled real well in the barrel

and held onto some big drop-ins

and wally sections. SO FUN!!..

Todd, the board looks great man! There’s no surf up here in the cold Pacific Northwest at the moment, but we’re leaving on Tuesday for Costa Rica so it’s maiden waves will be down in some nice tropical waves….stoked!

Hi Todd, its Nick,

I ordered a board from you like a month or so ago.

Its one of my favorite boards I’ve owned.

Paddles great, gets into waves real easy

and smooth, gets up and going right away.

I love the lower rocker, lots of speed, easy board to ride, feels like I’m in the sweet spot of the board all the time. Loose, snappy and responsive. A friend tried it and said it was really forgiving and easy to ride too.

The epoxy glassing with S cloth is holding up really good.

Barely showing pressure dings from my front foot, my other boards that are glassed with regular D cloth show pressure dings after a week. The board’s awesome, love it. Thanks again!! Would order another one right away but I can’t be spending money like that in this economy. Must say your boards a quite a bit more expensive than other boards out there but great boards though. Have a great one.

Polyurethane foam laminated with a high elasticity/ high tensile strength epoxy resin (good flex & super strong – but not as strong as the Proxy Flexible Epoxy construction). S-glass, the highest grade fiberglass available, is used as well. S-glass increases strength and keeps the board light.

In a Nutshell

Not as strong as the Proxy, but stronger than standard poly.

How’re you doing?
I really like the board!

During the vacation in CA I used it for surf at Oceanside, Swamis.

..I felt the board rather light in early days, but shortly after I got used to it and found it a really magic one!
It makes easy take-off and curving in various waves: knee to head high,
low to medium power waves.

So it also works well for waves in Japan.

..I will continue to use it.

Over time, the original derivative of this board, the “Groveler IV.p” became so fine-tuned that it grew up, left home and has started a new life of it’s own. The new G-4.E has undergone little tweaks to the rocker here and there, to the point that this design has become so versatile that it is not fair to call it a groveler any more….it generates tons of speed in small waves, but it also works so good in good waves. It is the all-arounder that works the best in the widest variety of performance surfing conditions. If you need to get just one performance board to see you through, this is the one to get.

Big Chief

Developed specifically for heavier surfers and/or those that surf more off their rail; this is the shortboard you can rip on and not sink on. Heavier surfers and those that grew up surfing during the 80’s era tend to surf more with their rails then off their fins. So the fuller rails of this design are essential for a board that “pushes back” and drives through turns. Increased volume, especially under the chest, affords ease in paddling. A versatile rocker and a single-to-double concave bottom generates incredible speed in the small stuff, yet maintains the essential responsiveness for quick direction changes in the pocket. There’s a slight vee off the back fin that gives the board a positive directional hold through turns.
